What does the Annual Mean Wind Speed Tool provide?
For your selected location and hub height, this tool shows the annual average (mean) wind speed including a +/- (plus or minus) range. This tool directly incorporates a confidence interval, providing a range of expected values and a more realistic assessment. We are 68% confident that the true annual wind speed for a given location falls inside the displayed range. This value reflects the general terrain conditions in your area and is based on a combination of computer simulations and direct observations.
You have the option of seeing wind speed values in units of m/s (meters per second) or mph (miles per hour). To learn how to change your account settings click here.
